SOLOS

OLIVER RIVER GESS BAND

The "Oliver River Gess Band" - whose name jokingly alludes to a local stream, with a reference to the fluvial tradition of the orchestras that performed on the boats of the southern States at the time when the spelling of the term "jazz" was not yet standardized - was born in Cuneo in 1991, performing for the first three years of activity as "King Oliver's Jazz Keepers".
The intent is, from the beginning, programmatic: to divulge and propose live the New Orleans genre of the dawn, and in particular the recordings of the legendary “King” Oliver with his Creole Jazz Band. The work requires an accurate and laborious recovery of the original arrangements, made with patient transcriptions from often rudimentary recordings, a characteristic of the orchestra that obtains immediate and prestigious acclaim from the very first concert performances.

TAXI DOWNTOWN TRIO

Fhurt gently, caress by scratching the strings and the voice.Taxi Downtown is the fastest way to the slums of music, in that area of the city where sordid rooms open only to loyal customers, protagonists and recipients of blues stories .Taxi Downtown doesn't take you where you wanted to go, because the taxi driver is like the bartender and it's like the blues, the acoustics seem electric and known melodies are diluted in original arrangements.Taxi Downtown doesn't even charge the fare. Because that's where he wanted to go too.

TICHÝ TRIO

The Tichý Trio is a fortunate acolyte of new Argonauts, who move into the musical sea of 2019 in the hopeful search for the golden fleece (but ebony or crimson is fine too!). Captain and pianist Albert "Giasone" Tichý explains: "Our trio, with Diego Dutto on trumpet, cornet and flugelhorn, and Marco Lo Baido on bass and clarinet, is not afraid of sailing in uncertain waters: Creole jazz players from Chicago and New Orleans, Fellini echoes of the Dolce Vita, elegant Californian hipsters from the 1950s and Tuscan taverns where Waits meets Pinocchio (and they go to the circus together), all sprinkled by some "razzmatazz" of a well-known lawyer from Asti ... because as Paolo Conte says, in music time is but a continuum and an illusion. So let us have fun driving our boat between the Simplegades, the itinerant rocks of the twentieth century music that - instead of scaring us to death - fill us with a sailor's euphoria! "

OFFICINE PSYCHO

Notes roll and bounce on plates and drums like electric seahorses in the wake of steel dragons and lashes of light, faces soiled with fear in procession, violent dances of soldiers at war without a king, deserts of petrified sound, primordial silence embodied, fall over time, crooked and metallic liturgies of daily alienation, innocent eyes in the white noise of a thousand factories, an altar on fire, offended, in a restless concert of mental snow ".
Sounds meet the image in a 'vision' that transcends the usual musical routes to venture on the dazzling paths of improvisation.
